Welcome to the Data Science Blog Series. Do check out my previous blog from the data science blog series here.

Make a Report:

First Create One Blank Workspace. We can Import our dataset or we can use some samples and create a power BI report. Here I create Report from Scratch. I used covid-statewise-report.csv. You can download that file from here.

Homepage of Power BI

For creating a report click the new report button from the right side.

Options for Report Creation

As I told you we can make a report by entering data manually or by just uploading a file.

Here I chose option 2 pick a published dataset and then upload the CSV file.

For Covid Statewise Report You can create your own visualizations. Here I used Bar Chart, Pie Chart, and Geographical Chart.

1 st Report

As you can see we have a total of 4 visualizations.

We have one bar chart of States and Total Covid Cases by States. Another Chart is Total Recovered + Total Positive Covid Cases by States and States. Then we have a simple Geographical Chart that shows total Covid Cases with Size of Circle. Finally, We have our Beautiful Pie Chart of Total Covid Cases By states.

Now by Selecting or highlighting any area in the report we get particular information for that part in all 4 visualizations.

Let’s See Another Report…

2nd Report

As you can see I change only the bar chart to the pie chart everything else is the same as our 1st report.

We can create this visualization by Selecting columns from the field section and selecting proper visualization from the visualizations section.

Only for Maharastra

As you can see here I select the Maharashtra section from the pie chart and all the charts highlighted the information only for Maharashtra.

That’s is how we analyze the stuff..!!

Export Report

To get this chart useful for your presentation you must have to export it. So by clicking on export you get an option PDF.

Get Insights Features

There is an awesome feature provided by Power BI which is called Get Insights. After Selecting Columns Power BI Automatically finds some insights and generates some visualizations. This feature is really useful when we just want an overview of the dataset.

Conclusion:

I hope you will learn something.
